Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce Active in Community
The Chamber of Commerce, as the voice of business, has been active lobbying on a number of issues.

The Chamber has been meeting with various groups and government representatives regarding closures and restrictions in areas used for back-country recreation due to caribou counts. Tens of millions of dollars have been invested in infrastructure to support back-country recreation in this area. Discussions are ongoing with the federal Ministry of Environment and the provincial MELP representatives in hopes of developing working wildlife management plans for our area.

The Chamber is also actively working with the forest industry to ensure a sustainable industry for Revelstoke in the future. Letters have been written to the provincial and federal governments in an effort to eliminate the renewal or extension of the existing Softwood Lumber Agreement.

The Chamber supports that all companies have equal access to the U.S. market or allow free trade in softwood lumber with the U.S. We would encourage all Revelstoke citizens to become involved the letter writing campaign. For more information contact the Chamber office.
