Revelstoke Tourism Development
Over the past several months, the Tourism Development department at the Chamber of Commerce has initiated the development of several tools.

Through grants from the Columbia Basin Trust Affected Areas Fund, three new map brochures were created to assist visitors to the City and area.

Available now are the HIKING map brochure and the BIKING map brochure. These pieces were created to fulfill the many requests received from visitors to the area. As well, a new NORDIC ski trails map brochure was produced for Mt. McPherson and other local trails.

The 2000/2001 Revelstoke Vacation Guide is now out on the shelves and is available for local businesses to have available for tourists to Revelstoke or to send out to enquiries.

On the electronic front, the Revelstoke Vacation website and Snow Sports website have been a great success. Visits to the site climbed from approximately 1500 per month to over 20000 visits! The United States accounts for nearly 60 % of all visits, next Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany. Our email requests for information have greatly increased over the past year.

The next electronic tool produced here in Revelstoke is the new “Revelstoke Virtual Visit” CD ROM. Produced through the Chamber and Solutions Interactive, a local home based business, this CD features nearly 40 minutes of video, over 250 images and information links to the Revelstoke websites.

This CD was designed to be used to promote Revelstoke to major Tour Operators, Tour Wholesalers, mixed media including magazines, newspapers, television shows and corporations.

As well, the CD is a great souvenir for the individual travelers to Revelstoke. The CDs are available at the Revelstoke Chamber for $9.99 plus taxes.
